So often we read, or hear, or see something about someone who:
Steps in front of:
A moving train
A moving car
A policeman’s bullet
Steps off of:
A bridge
A tall building
A pier
A cliff
A steep grade
A canyon rim
A moving train
Drives their car
into:
A tree
A telephone pole
A lake
An on coming car
A Police roadblock
Drives their car
off of:
A bridge
A tall building
A pier
A cliff
A steep grade
A canyon rim
Turns on the oven on without a working pilot light
Sits in a running car with all the windows open in a closed garage
Takes an entire
months worth of medication at one time
And washes it down with a quart of liquor.
Uses their right
temple as a bulls eye:
Or the bridge of their nose
Or the roof of their mouth
Or their double chins
Goes Postal
Imitates a piñata
Brutally assaults
a:
Loved one
Wife
Husband
Child
Family
Friend
Neighbor
Brutally assaults
an estranged:
Loved one
Wife
Husband
Child
Family
Friend
Neighbor
Or
Cut themselves
Burn themselves
Pull the very hair from their head
Just for a change of senses
And when surviving
any of these recounting:
That it was like watching a movie
That it was like an out of body experience
That it seemed like a dream
That they were watching someone else
And don’t we wonder what could have brought someone to such a point in their life?
I don’t
I know!
